1.Assignment Title: GBV Programme intern (part-time)

2.Type of the Assignment: Internship

3.Project Title: China White Ribbon Volunteers Network

4.Duration: 4 months, September-December, 2015

5.Location:Beijing, China

6.Expected Starting Date:1 September, 2015

7. Brief Project Description:
Supported by UNFPA in 2013, Dr. FangGang, a member of the Secretary-General’s Network of Men Leaders of UNiTEcampaign, established the China White Ribbon Volunteers Network (CWRVN) toinvolve more Chinese men and boys to fight against and stop Gender-BasedViolence (GBV). The concrete objectives of the CWRVN are: 1). to promote menand boys’engagement to end gender-based violence by conducting advocacycampaigns, seminars in communities and schools, and social activities; 2). tocarry out face-to-face or hotline, email and QQ counselling to survivors and victimsof GBV, witnesses of violence and violence perpetrators by ; 3).to conduct research on counsellingtechniques and publish papers and books to summarize experiences and promoteknowledge on this subject in China; 4). to actively participate in globalmovements to eliminate gender-based violence. Now, CWRVN has mobilized morethan 500 volunteers in China and set up city service stations in 18 cities.

8.Host Agency/Host Institute: UNFPA/China White Ribbon VolunteersNetwork

9.Description of Duties:
1)Organized the 3rd CWRVN annual meeting.
2)Serve as liaison between the UNFPA and CWRVN .
3)Support to CWRVN ‘s programme management and execution.
4) Regular translation (emails, documents andsimultaneous interpretation in conferences, etc.)

10. Qualifications/Requirements:
1)Language skills:fluency in spoken and written Mandarin and English.
2)Personal commitment to the idea and practice of ending gender-based violence and promoting gender equality.
3)Bacheloror Postgraduate degree in a related field .
4)Computer skills: Basic computing skills (MS-Office and internet software) includingpreparing presentations and ability to work with databases.

12. Benefit
Generally this is a no-pay positionbut salary can be granted when he/she participates in CWRVN’s projects thatallow salary for staff. By taking this assignment, you will have theopportunity to:

4) be issued acertification if your performance is excellent .
